So of course you smolder when people who have a different posting philosophy make posts, because that philosophy usually involves not really giving a shit and just kind of posting whatever, whereas you're focusing in a certain way and exercising a kind of discipline that they are not. (This same principle underlies why annoying expressions drive me crazy.)

I can't really tell you if I understand the value of not trying too hard. A lot of my apparent laziness and lack of work effort had to do with factors beyond my control. I can tell you being poverty -stricken and on relief is not as enjoyable as Ignatius was under the impression it is. _.
