And I'm talking specifically about the 'programs'.

I have 3 columns, and it's very annoying to find things because it doesn't automatically put them in alpha order. Plus it's cluttered with all sorts of garbage. There must be a better paradigm for having a large number of programs.

What is your resolution at that you can even see them all? Because 3 takes up my whole screen, almost.

The ones that are programs I don't know what they do, and the rest are downloadfs because I'm too lazy to save it to a folder

Having six columns of icons on your desktop is pretty outstanding though. I have three and feel like its cluttered.

All of my major programs are there. Plus any files that I access frequently, and and files that I've been working with recently.

I use my desktop as a virtual desktop, so just as I have any work I'm doing spread out on my real desktop, I have any computer work linked via my computer desktop.
