Hell's Kitchen is awesome, and The Ultimate Fighter is probably my favorite show on television now.

What are some reality TV shows that people enjoy?

I like MTV's True Life, because the presentation of its subjects is usually pretty straightforward and unpretentious (symbolized well by the visual look and style - no hosts or people except the subjects, and simple white text against black screens), and they cover a lot of different interesting topics and lifestyles.

Reality TV is like any genre of anything, and can be engaging or terrible based on how intelligently it is done. True Life doesn't embody the outrageous sensationalism that mars other reality shows, and lives up to its genre by presenting genuinely real people and stories.

Super Sweet 16 is essentially watching the most disgusting members of the human race placed into a situation where they can exert their full power.

I saw an episode where a girl was given a car by her father, but before he showed it to her he gave her the car she already owned and said TA DA, like a joke gift. The show's producers stopped the music and basically did everything but a record scratch to cue the viewer to pay close attention to her reaction. As anyone would react when presented with a gift they already owned, she showed confusion and more importantly failed to show the explosive appreciation that the redneck viewers imagine they'd feel if they could find someone to give them a car. The entire scene was set up to turn a reasonable situation into a chance to boil one's blood over the ungratefulness of someone whose brain hasn't even fully formed yet.

Let's all just admit we watch it because we can't believe how much we want to fuck these kids, and let that be that.
