Chris, you're trolling and everything, but you're fucking retarded. Mixing is usually done Stereophonically or Quadrophonically, and even then, it's usually confined to a left and right channel. You're not hearing shit all over your fucking head.

There are mixers that add a front and back channel. It's just not as common.

If you have four channels, you can combine them to make it sound like something is anywhere.

But the way biaural recording works is that it tricks your brain into have basically a 360 degree channel (Much like real life!) whereas the other ways of panning sound and shit don't really affect how you perceive it.
