Tonight when me and my CREW were coming back to the office, this black guy was walking out of the building and he was like "what are y'all, students?" Then he turns to this guy Ugo, who's from Nigeria, and he's like, "what about you, where you from?" Ugo tells him he's from Nigeria and the guy goes, "Nigeria!? Sheit, we got us a fresh african here! You a good nigga!"

Then when we went in the building the other people in my crew were talking about how what that guy said was disgusting, so I had to pretend I didn't think it was hilarious.

No, we either drive a car or take the train. "Crew" is canvasser jargon for team or group, I guess. It's the group of people who canvass different parts of the same town together.

Canvassing is a pretty exhausting job, and you have to be an invasive asshole, but the commission money is badass if you know how to sell a pitch.

I don't even feel bad about canvassing, because I've always felt that rich people should give me some of their money, and now I finally have a job where I get to convince them to. On top of that global warming sucks and I want to get the legislation we're trying to fund passed.

There's a big difference between what Weird Al does and what Richard Cheese does.

Weird Al changes the lyrics, and it's usually brilliant.

Richard Cheese just changes the music to standard crooner-jazz. Anybody could do that.

Also, Weird Al also does plenty of his own original songs.

Richard Cheese is just okay. I guess his schtick is kind of clever, but his voice and arrangements aren't very interesting or impressive beyond the fact that they're covers of unexpected songs.

It's not clever at all.

It's exactly one joke, repeated dozens of times.

And other bands have done this before! Like Dynamite Hack when they covered Boyz in the Hood. Same thing.

It's like, "Haha, it's gangsta rap, but he's WHITE, and he's SINGING IT... LIKE IT'S JAZZ!!!! WHAT AN HILARIOUS INCONGRUITY! This is OUTRAGEOUS!"

My experience with Richard Cheese was: the first song was kind of funny, the second was less funny, and by the third I was like, "Uh, OK. You can stop now!"

But it didn't stop.

And I've now gone to several GATHERINGS and public places where Richard Cheese is on, and it does nothing but make me feel awkward.
