I don't know if there are any factors limiting my lateness. I suppose I can't go faster than c while being late, or make myself late by checking out the inside of a black hole, but that's about it.

I am always early for appointments and class, late for work and would be late for all social outings if the other person or people involved weren't invariably even later.

Your theory is an excuse for you to be late.

People who are not ontime are basically worthless. Either they should be ready when they claim they'll be ready, or tell people a different time.
