So after seven years I finally got a virus.
Ironically two days after getting a new computer!
So fucking help me!
I keep getting IE pop up ads, I can't open the task manager and I can't right click any icons.
Plus all the helpful suggestion I've found are confusing bullshit.

If it's a new computer, it'd be easiest to just format, since you probably don't have much data anyway.
Or download and use THE STINGER. It worked for me. |

Yeah, what Roy said.
I'm guessing you don't have Vista?
The first thing you should do when you get a new computer or freshly install windows is run windows update and make sure that you're totally up to date (involves several reboots and several visits to the site, usually). There are viruses that can infect your system just by you connecting it to the Internet. |

Yeah, see, the thing is that I can't update Windows because it requires verification.
I have a pirated version of XP. |

Also get Spybot Search & Destroy and use that. I don't exactly know the difference between a virus and adware but it'll probably help. And after using that download Hijack This (more like High jack this fags) and it'll scan all your system processes. If you need more info on a process than the program provides, google the file name and see if it's normal or not. |

That makes sense then.
When you say pirated XP, does that mean you downloaded it from a torrent, or that you're using one that's being used on another computer? |

I mean he a burnt copy at a computer show with a fake registration number.
And it's being used on at least fifty computers. |

Oh, too bad.
If anyone has a pirated copy like that, what do you do about patches?
My copy is only casual piracy, so Microsoft doesn't catch it. |

I've never needed patches.
I've never had a single unsolvable problem until now!
Which makes it all the more annoying. |

Well that was lame.
Not only did I have to painstakingly remove all the infected files, I had to create a new user account.
Anyway, thanks Roy! |
