This is a neo-noir film starring Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer.

This film is good, go check it out.

I did find the plot to be a bit convuluted (despite being fleshed out. Some thief poses as an actor which is in turn mistaken for detective than a buncha shit goes down as a result.) But while no worshipper of Val Kilmer or Robert Downey jr. (or even the script of this movie), they carried this movie fairly well.
