1) It's complicated. Religion has different tones. But they don't go praying and allah akbaring everyday. But they would probably cut you if you insult any major religious figure.

2) There is no ISIS shit in Iran. The Iranian intelligence dept is pretty good.

I don't mean that ISIS is in Iran, but Iran is backing Syrian and Iraqi forces that are fighting ISIS. I've read that many Middle Eastern countries consider ISIS Iran's problem. Do average Iranian citizens not really pay much attention to it and it's more of the government's concern? I don't think your military is directly involved, so is it just a matter of Syrians and Iraqis being shit? Saudis and Turks shitting everything up? Do you think Iran could do more without starting World War III?

The thing that I think but can't say about those fags that got killed is that a lot of people want to blame radical Islam despite there being no evidence that the murderer had any exposure to that. On the other hand it does seem that normal, regular Islam was important to the process. He was a gay maniac whose father thinks Allah will punish gays and couldn't take the double life, right? That makes it sound like it could have just as easily been a Southern Baptist.

But you can't say "not only is this NOT not about Islam, it's so much about Islam that Radical Islam, that crutch we use to be allowed to mention Islam, isn't even involved."

How does that conclusion follow from you saying he could as easily have been Christian? The exact point you should be making is that Islam has nothing to do with it, it's socially ingrained bigotry that transcends race or religion.
