Old computer games Derek (or anyone) should download. |

Because my life consists of jack and shit right now use this thread to recommend old computer games (or newer ones if they've achieved cult status) for me to pirate and try. I have a feeling Theldorrin will be doing most of the replying in this thread. I'll contribute with suggestions as I come to them. I'm also going to suggest you limit suggestions to rpgs, adventure and strategy games because action and simulator games don't age well at all (and sports games are fucking gay). Also for the hell of it I'll take any suggestions for indie games because I'm sure there are a few good ones out there (no Rogue types please, because they fucking suck).
I'm thinking of downloading and trying out Wasteland sometime here in the future any comments?
Another is Beneath a Steel Sky which I always wanted to try when I was younger so anyone ever played that? |

I guess getting Worms Armegeddon and playing some of that would be fun if you need to take a break from RPGS.
Hopefully I will assume that you've finished Icewind Dale, and I can't really think of anything else off-hand. |

Kevin Michael Richardson did the voice of a general in the new TMNT movie and it's awesome. |

Who are some of your favorite minor NPCs? I liked the mage that approaches you when you get to the middle of Baldur's Gate, and Mook, that thief that dies when you're overseeing the CARGO TRANSPORT in BG2! |

Microprose is a goldmine of high quality stuff.
RPG/Adventure
Darklands
Neuromancer
Might and Magic Clouds of Xeen and Darkside of Xeen (which combine to form World of Xeen)
Have you played Lucasarts, Sierra or Legend Entertainment games?
Strategy
Settlers II
Stronghold
Fantasy Empires (This and Stronghold are both D&D strategy games)
Master of Magic (Civ-style with Magic, basically)
Battle Bugs
Imperialism
Imperialism 2
MOO1
Have you played any Koei games?
Dominions 2 is a good independent TBS game (and I can only assume Dominions 1 and 3 are also good, because they're apparently virtually identical) |

There's a lot of old TSR RPGs, too. Eye of the Beholder, those Ravenloft games, Unlimited Adventures, etc. |

Oh, and Jagged Alliance is supposedly similar to X-Com, though I've never played it (Jagged Alliance). |

I was thinking about doing a speed run through the game but I'd need at least week to plan out my characters. Besides being able to do a full structural analysis of De-Loused in the Comatorium and Frances the Mute now, I could probably completely map out 90% of the areas in BG2 room by room and plan how I'd go through everything. |
