SO, I credited Arabs with Algebra; but I was wrong. That had more to do with the Babylonians, Persians, and Indians. In other words; Persia may have contributed something after all.

Still, this piecemeal contribution is nothing compared to the Indian decimal system. Indians are underrated; fuck this "rediscovery of Greece" crap.

Did it take the west a thousand years to realize they live next to Greece? Textbook history is such bullshit.

I have decided to write an essay:

Why Greece is an overrated pile of shit: The mythology of Greek exceptionalism

Greeks in their day were great at geometry and Philosophy. However; their most influential philosophers was a nutbag rip-off of middle eastern philosophy (Plato) and a misogynist who got everything wrong (Aristotle).

This bullshit is considered important, for some reason.

METTALURGY:

The Greeks were xenophobic self aggrandizing pederasts. Their mettalurgy wasn't really as good as Indian Wootz steel making or Damascus Steel.

Even the Romans got their engineering from the Etruscans; and Roman mettalurgy tended to be Samnite or Celtic instead of Greek.

MATH:

The babylonians invented Algebra; the Indians invented our number and decimal system. The Greeks were good at 9th grade geometry however.

CHEMISTRY: The Greeks believe in like 4-5 elements. Like OK; apparantly science was backwards in the middle ages and we "rediscovered" that the Greek genius of the four elements.

Alright, no one gives a shit. I was just trying to make MADali feel better and realize that no; his gay civilization is not inferior another gay civilization.

I know we've all made the usual guesses, but why DID Snake Plisken tear up the tapes? And why would a fucking tape be so important?

Sure, this was before internet; but that's actually irrelevant, because even before these techologies we still had things known as COPIES, PRINTING, COMMUNICATION, AND MEMORY AMONG OTHER THINGS. Not to mention, computers and internet existed at the time it takes place anyway.

A fucking tape was not important either today or at the time it takes place. It could have taken place in the 50s and not been that important.

It makes no sense either for the tape to be so important or for Snake to tear it up. Or maybe he tore it up because it was a piece of shit???

I guess it means "fuck this president and fuck the tape and fuck people. Oh, and this tape is either a piece of shit or made by one". Yeah, that's obvious

Chinatown (ok not bad but nothing to jerk your dick over)

These are the most overrated movies to come out of the 70s.

I've decided to rewatch alien; because after having seen part of it it no longer seems like the same movie.

It's like, I could rewatch the whole thing and it would feel like a different movie. Is that normal???

While I liked the sequal "aliens", I'm surprised at how acclaimed it is.

Ok I guess I have to do my own research. In which case, check out the Portia spider:

Portia manages to use its tiny brain to emulate a much bigger, smarter brain and thereby come up with complex plans. it does this by chunking problems and running them very slowly. so it can show "holy crap" levels of behavioral complexity -- if it is given an hour or two to sit and think over the problem first.
