I've had to mourn a lot of people this year, and this is just another in a long line of things that shows us how much life sucks and how sudden it all is.

I remember when I had that stupid Ace Kendo website and message board, and Theldorrin would visit and harass me with his powerful intensity. I didn't know if he was being seriously mean, because why would someone waste that much time attacking someone on a message board of three people if there wasn't something more there?

But the more we interacted, the more I liked him. He was always up for a conversation or an argument, and he always had something interesting to add or offered a fresh perspective on something. He reminded me a lot of the argumentative people in my own family, but with with a far more intelligent eye and wit. And there was a kindness to him that many of you had, but often withheld from me and from each other. He was probably the nicest one here.

Theldorrin was the most interesting and important person that I've ever met on the internet, and I just can't believe he is really gone. I haven't been around in the last few years, and that was partly because he wasn't around. But at least there hadn't been any concrete evidence that he had died, so I could hope, or pretend, that it was going to be okay.

I'm tired of saying goodbye to people, yet it is something we all have to do and something we will always be doing until we go, ourselves. So, goodbye Matthew.

Theldorrin was a better programmer than me for most of the time we were both alive, and since I powered up I'm annoyed I can't rub his face in how much better I am than him.

Many years ago I proposed that he and I would create a fake feud for the board. I kinda forgot about it. For a while he only faked the disdain. For a while .
