How bittersweet is this show? Damn, that ending, yesterday. Lemonhope wandering through the ruins of the Candy Kingdom, we see how large Finn and Jake's tree has gotten, and he goes into the ruins of Castle Lemongrab and lays down and dies.

Damn.

And PB was totally that crazy cloud flier.

And I still fucking tear up a bit every time I Remember You comes on.

Also, Rick and Morty is the awesome and funny compliment to Adventure Time. I might be the only one who loves it when Rick gets all belchy---it just cracks me up when he's in the middle of spouting something important and serious and interrupted by his own drunken burps.

While I wasn't a fan of stories revolving around Finn being a horny teenager, there have been some remarkable episodes this season, such as:

-Lemonhope
-Puhoy (the pillow kingdom episode, with Jonathan Frakes as grown-up Finn)
-BMO Lost
-Time Sandwich
-Rattleballs
-Bad Timing
-We Fixed a Truck
-The Vault

Seasons 3 & 4 were stronger seasons, but I blame the unevenness of Season 5 on its length. 52 episodes compared to the normal order of 26, with many of the episodes focusing on characters other than Finn and Jake.

Now I can't seem to get into Steven Universe. Does anyone like that show? It just bores me.

While I get what they were doing with the Flame Princess storylines by having Finn behave, I guess, like a teenager, we had to deal with a shitty horny whiny Finn. I prefer the Dungeon Train RPG Finn who just wants to fight and basically level up.

His leaf sword is cool, and one of the reasons why I liked Rattleballs.

Also, because they named a badass samurai-like character Rattleballs.

I actually like the Flame Princess Finn Feels episodes better than the early PB Finn Feels episodes. Mostly because the VA's voice has changed. I actually have a hard time watching Season 1 episodes in general, Finn's voice used to be really grating.

I think the VA was 12 when it started. And they've decided to age Finn, partly because the VA's voice has changed.

I agree with the voice thing. But I think it is also because they've figured out a better flow of dialogue and conversation. There seems to be a lot more logic and thought put into the slang, now. Not just Finn shouting out "Mathematical!"

I love listening to the character talk. Like in one of my favorite episodes from last season---the one with the mudskipper creatures, with the leader voiced by Johnathan Katz:

". . .for many- for many moons now, our village has been under siege by the Mega Frog. He's one hundred stories of one hundred-ten percent ten-speed terror, like, bam, like, fresh out the grease. I mean, he chases us all up and down from first base to home, trying to eat us alive."
