I realized today that as of mid-2013 the self-hosted FTU (7 years old this month) has outlasted the ezboard FTU/DBZU (which went for 6 years, 4 months).

The board is dead and has been dead for something like two years, but that's still pretty wild!!!

Just about any of you guys would know better than me, due to wont to end up getting hospitalized/ arrested/harmless?, but like, did King Vanchaus glorious Utopia called ezboardFTU EVER truly slow down? I mean, calling FTU dead at this point is kinda like saying crackheads like to indulge in rocks--really, no fucking shit, it's dead? -- and like, did FTU Original ever fall into extended lulls where people actually were doing, I dunno, other stuff than clinging to the internet message board scene?

The way I see it, there was more content in two of those years probably than this place's entirety of existence. One of the FTU GURUS would be able to make a statement a heck of a lot better than myself, but, ?

If you're wanting someone to say "why yes, it DID slow down!" to offer you a glimmer of hope, it's not gonna happen!!!

The interesting question to me is, what made it finally die?

But I guess there's probably not really an answer to that, as in there being some kind of identifiable "thing." People just stopped posting, and then other people stopped posting because those people stopped posting. I kind of like that actually, because you can't just blame something. This SHIT expired quite naturally!

Chris, the question shouldn't be why it died, but why it is still not completely dead. I mean, it is a piece of shit board now and has been for a few years, but we still come and check it out. I mean, how long will this struggling half dead corpse continue like this? It almost seems like this could go on for another 10 years easily.
