I was doing that when it was the opposite of an annoying expression years ago and now it's annoying again. _________________ Last edited by God on Fri Apr 05, 33 4:00 am; edited 1 time in total |

I use the internet exclusively from a telephone.
Hell, I used to post here IN THE BEGINNING *FOTNS voice from opening scene* exclusively with a Sega Dreamcast and controller, the keyboard being like it I was typing in the hero name that is about to be woken up because he's late for a festival /training /good for nothing jerk-off.
I moved up to a keyboard for a while.
It seems I've come full circle. |

When something bad happens that's outside of your control, and you say, "Oh well, THAT'S POKER!!" even though you're not actually playing poker. |

That's fucking cool, actually.
Of course, in poker itself, it IS an annoying expression, but be careful thinking about that too much because you might blow your own mind!!! |

You know, that's right! Yes I lived at poverty level my entire life, but how the hell is my litttle clan even alive? Oh that's right, my mother joined the military when she saw little recourse, and just went over to Germany to drink and listen to music while carrying a gun.
If she was in the situation as today she'd probably be on welfare and I would be selling crack through a newspaper route
They did have it easier in the old days!
Except this ferret. My mom was a waitress and she she saw this boy she recognized who had no friends and was always depressed, except with.his Ferret. He was crying cause it was dying because it still had its balls.
My dad has no skills besides drinking and military, and now he has a high wage and is near pension for driving a forklift for Coca-cola
What the fuck? I'm in a similiar position but even if healthy I'd be homeless. Oh yeah, things are so easy! I can't even get an ID! WITH MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE AN OFFICIAL ONE |

"Welcome to Earf!"
Not necessarily the line/joke itself (although the idea of Will Smith - who I've always kind of hated - being too much of a lazy-mouthed ignoramus to pronounce words correctly is always chuckle-worthy), but the meta-contextual state it now exists in concerning its inaccuracy.
Widespread knowledge of its (political?) incorrectness has reached a threshold to where each usage is neutralized by some wiener pointing out that in fact, he never actually said it that way.
A recent example can be seen in the comments section of the AV Club's movie review of "After Ear__" It's quite an entertaining display of a culture war-like battle of two factions: those who insist on using it for its intrinsic hilarity vs. hyper-sensitive dorks who attempt to squash its usage on not only grounds of inaccuracy, but of supposed racism.
As someone in the thread (correctly) pointed out, its usage is now primarily to troll the overly anal/liberal types into a frenzied froth and watch the spittle fly. |

I don't actually heard a lot of such expressions in my life because when I was in Dubai or when I visit Dubai, because people come from a varity of different cultures to Dubai, spoken English is usually basic, without a lot of such phrases.
However, a few days, in a business meeting in Dubai, I heard our marketing say something about our website which was, "Its like, hello, 2000 called, they want their website back." It was a terrible moment. |

Also, I know its nothing new to make fun of business jargon, but it really is ridicolous the way some of my colleagues talk whenever we have a big conference. Usually its the fucking babies in suits that talk that way. I think 50% of the vocabulary is Leverage. These babies love that word.
Several times I actually told one of these guys, straight up, "I have no idea what you are saying, say it again. " I bet they thought I was stupid, but even when I knew what they were saying, it got so much on nerves, that I refused to accept it and had to pretend ignorance so that they'll talk like normal people. |

I don't think I'm in a position of power.
Anyway, two weeks back I was in Jordan, last week in Dubai, and this week back in Iran. |

Well, not kill all the Ace Kendo's of the world power, but it sounds pretty interesting to me. I mean, that's cross country traveling, you're not just a manager of three IHOPS.
Are you usually the smartest person in the room (or the only not corporate asshole), or does fictional and non-fictional media use the boardroom stereotypes of how business fellas act way too often? You know, pretentious men in 400$ suits saying the most politically correct way of enhancing a product with people cutting in "Mohammed, what do you think if we shut down [x] corporate arm but we .... surreptitiously allocated those resources to [x] site, and we could cut out a lot of pensions as it would be considered an opportunity for the workers there to earn proposed greater wage, though we all know most of those former employees aren't capable of moving to the new location?" |

Kind of BECAUSE I don't quite understand it.

Well we can agree on one thing, right?
I THink your social hierarchy theory that involves negros and wetbacks is racially and culturally insensitive, and very sexist. Poor coloreds and bush haitian types treat their women like shit. You also deplore the Fact woman have it so hard, that they need to hook just for a frozen pizza, your vision of empowerment is divine in its stupidity, and Insulting to strong woman everywhere, like Katie couric and Lisa Walters, and the German president |
