Thumbs up, but I'm starting to feel that Jackie Brown will never be toppled as my favorite Tarantino movie.

I also seem to be getting more sensitive to violence in movies, in my old age.

I wish critics would stop calling the guys in the hoods in that one scene Ku Klux Klansmen, being that the Klan didn't exist until after the Civil War.

In fact, that's kinda the joke of the scene.

And I guess at this point it's probably in Samuel L. Jackson's contract that he has to say "motherfucker" at least twice in any R-rated film, but it IS 1858, and, well, I do believe that's anachronistic.

Roger Ebert didn't review this or the Hobbit (I'm guessing because of his health).

Chris, does it make you sad that ROGER is a physical wreck and probably ISN'T LONG FOR THIS WORLD?

I would say yes, but I've already thought he was going to die on three different occasions, and I think he and Chaz will pull through this... together.

I saw their Christmas card for this year and he didn't look noticeably more decrepit than photos I saw of him a while ago.

I do not really care for swearing in music anymore it does nothing. I still have all of my old punk music and such and it was certainly a staple in the mid 90's.

Just like swearing in shows. In comedy shows I ended up enjoying funny bleeping instead of the swearing itself (Arrested Development...)

I KIND OF want to see this movie, but I've never felt comfortable watching a film with a black lead. Why didn't Tarantino make it about a white indentured servant or something?

QT does not accept that movie violence translates to real world violence and I believe it is because he uses over the top violence. Movies that emulate war and go for realism skews things for me than movies like this. I enjoyed the violence in a sense that I thought it added to the film in more than just a "his head blew up ha ha" way even though I laughed very audibly in the theater.
