DragonballZ movie 13 used to be my favorite; yet I oddly agree with Chris that this movie is overrated

My mind is split freeze style on this issue, because the reason the movie is so overrated/good is it basically rams some asinine Zelda plot down dragon ball's throat.

While it gives dragon ball a touch of welcome development, people don't seem to realize how much of this movie is wasted on asinine character development on a character that isn't really as important as Goku (tapion)

While it may seem like a Shallow comparison; the world's strongest, generally not regarded as the best DBZ movie, had a pretty kick ass battle scene from the get-go. Movie 13 is basically Gohan and trunks being gay, Link being gay, and then Goku punching somebody. Also, no Piccolo

7/10 (rounded up because I used to like it)

I don't remember calling this movie overrated, or saying anything about this movie, because it was probably over a decade ago when I said it.

What you mean by "casual". Do you mean people who do a really bad job of subtitling?

Well, at least it's heard of, and VLC is famous enough where there is something out there. And, I guess I patch it by....google. I've tried various subs, yet the timing is always five seconds off. FUCK!!11

frankly, I'd rather have mediocre subtitles than shit timing

You can calibrate the timing of subtitles in VLC if they are consistently ahead or behind.

ANYWAY, here my review

Dragon all path to power fulfills its purpose of retelling and repackaging the adventures of Goku in to an aesthetically pleasing journey.

The movie, with its updated animation, seems to know better than to insult it's audience by going too over the top. On the contrary; the movie was not slapstick enough; using the best jokes and the best gags, but, being a kids and action show, doesn't have much more to work with then that.

PROS: good, aesthetically decent animation, does an ok job of covering the some of the early episodes and the Red Ribbon saga, the humor was sufficiently done.

CONS: I really can't point out the cons of this movie; it just seemed to drag on at the end; even then plenty of respectable movies that drag on at the end that everyone pretends to like even though they are boring. I guess all the movies positive points were adequate but not great. I felt the ending predictable although maybe thats because I kinda get the series by now.

I give it a 6.5 out of ten

He's a bullshit character, who looks and sounds exactly like Goku, and can go super saiyan, and Goku never raised him because he was a fucking accident
