You clearly have never played -- my two favorite examples -- Gunbird 2 and ESPrade. I beat ESPrade on just about a single credit. Half a second more of thorough physical manifestations of telekinetic blasts and I'd have made it to the final form (Ms.Garra has five forms) on one credit. My lack of medieval geometry and philosophy is what must have caused me to utilize a second credit. This was with big-time cognitive functioning and enhanced reflexes.
?
Gunbird 2 ... fucking shit. I tipped myself Wega on it's side to use the proper ratio and with endless practice I made it to the final level on one credit. I then proceeded to use about 30+ credits to reach an almost Homoerotic ending in Japan-man Cuzco it wasn't b
Had awesome voice acting and tavias das had an ending with gay samurai raping poor fellaw
You're sort of right through your illustrated laughing panel, though, considering both games are about 12 years aged ...
YouTube esprade final boss. |

Old games required actual LEARNING, and development of skills.
Nowadays you just punch the clock until you're done. |

That's an extremely elitist point of view, Chris.
I love a lot of old games, but I readily acknowledge that most were just designed to steal little kids quarters, are poorly programmed (nothing like Karnov killing you for pushing jump and attack at the same time) and terribly unresponsive (every ghosts and goblins game). Plenty of new games require development of skills, but they definitely develop games more for the casual crowd than they used to and story is a far more important quality than it used to be. In general I just argue that you should play whatever you want and have fun. |

Casual games have a lot more in common with old games than the supposed 'hard core' variety. _________________ @}-,-'- *~*~* Member of the FTU Elegant Tea Party Society *~*~* -'-,-{@ |

Actually old games require far less learning than newer ones, and success in them required extremely repetitive training that was not fun at all and were frustrating dog shit.
So yeah, what Derek said, as well. |

In fact, I'll just respond to that as if it were posted by a different person.
Like, let's say that's Chris, and I'm some other guy.
Or maybe, that's some other guy, and I'm Chris.
Anyway, here is my response:
What the fuck are you talking about, you idiot? You don't even play modern video games. You've developed this severe, obsessive-compulsive fixation on a specific ancient, shitty game that you're (amazingly) not too fucking old to understand, and based on experience with that one game (and with other games of which the totality of your experience stops dead circa 1993), you're making an enormous, retarded generalization about a world that you know nothing about, among a group of people who do.
Just shut the fuck up and stop posting. |

Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram is the most unheralded game in the 'ol USA video game scene history I think and I almost considered purchasing a PS2 because of a sequel even if it involved gay teamwork in which you could not leave a certain range of your allies robotic corpse or possibly if they were alive then the game died on the wire which was probably a good thing as I'd have had a traumatic epileptic fit to see my angelan powered by a PS2 on its back though admittedly the heralded twin stick arcade stick would've been partially replicated (control option D in VOOT worked just fine lest you liked to slide while firing and took no advantage of the hop quick land to center the screen, and they kinda took out the ability to use two seperate televisions so there be a proper line of sight if you had anybody to play it with to start with (choppy online play'd been preferable to practice mode ;_< |

Or he should keep posting until everyone else quits in disgust. That's probably an even better strategy. |

You must have misinterpreted Gimp Mask's post, Derek.
There's no way that could not be the case. _________________ Last edited by God on Fri Apr 05, 33 4:00 am; edited 1 time in total |
