I've seen worse. It also manages to take several one note jokes and spread them out across two god damn seasons. It's just like one of my American sitcoms...
Three good characters out of about a dozen. Not great odds.
And you should be thankful they slashed the price down by twenty dollars. |

Pass then, I have enough average anime to pick from already.
And, uh, yeah.
-_-;
I guess I can wait for another price drop after retailers realize nobody's going to pay an extra $45 for an art pamphlet and a CD.
The main guy in The World God Only Knows sounds like my kind of main guy, so I'll probably look into that next. |

Damn my obsessive need for pointless little anime-related knickknacks I'll look at once and then forget about until the end of time. |

Ryoko-chan!
My anime toy collection is kind of pathetic after actually checking it. It's mostly free stuff, Gundam Wing models from back when I liked that shit, some Final Fantasy VII figures, and a HATSUNE MIKU APPEND figma I found for cheap.

Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva
I didn't expect a game series about puzzle-solving adventures to translate very well into anime, but the movie holds up suprisingly well! The puzzle aspect takes a bit of a backseat for obvious reasons, but there are some, and the movie gives you, the viewer, enough time to try to work out the answers without feeling like the story is stalling, which was nice. Speaking of the story, aww, touching. It'd be nice if they just picked one shitty voice for Luke and stuck with it instead of constantly switching to even shittier voices, though.
Four and a half out of five Seikas, slightly lower for non-fans. |

Yeah, I've always been an unstoppable juggernaut once I start collecting something. That's usually why I try not to collect anything ever. I really need someone to curtail the frivolous squandering of my disposable income. In the early 2000s I collected about 400 DVDs, in the mid-2000s I collected around 200 video games and PRESENTLY I have amassed a collection of 40 PVC figures. And the only thing that can stop me is death or bankruptcy. |

I rarely buy movies anymore except by certain producers or whatever. I bought Bunraku last. I did stop from always buying those ultimate editions and whatnot because after I long while I realized I never watched the stuff. I did not want to buy the lesser version and want to watch it later but I never have. Certain movies make extra editions worth it but those titles usually only come in that one edition. Kevin Smith movies I will watch commentary on. Cannibal the Musical and other Troma films have fun content. The Holy Grail special edition has very funny features also. |

anime
Usagi Drop: Probably the most heartwarming thing I've ever watched in my entire life. The premise is kind of depressingly creepy (A 30-year-old dude decides to raise his grandfather's illegitimate 6-year-old daughter after the rest of his family essentially disowns her. What the hell, Japan? Why are you so damn interested in old men fucking?) but they downplay that aspect enough and focus on the trials and tribulations of parenthood. Mostly the sickeningly saccharine trials and tribulations but if you've been paying attention at all in the last decade you'll know I'm a sucker for that sort of thing. Though after reading the Wikipedia article about the SECOND PLOT ARC in the manga volumes (Which they didn't animate, THANK GOD.) I am extremely repulsed and may just quit anime forever. Apparently it takes place ten years after the original story with the girl this guy raised falling in love with him and planning on having his children. That is literally the ending. And this was written by a Japanese WOMAN. If it was some creepy pedophile I could just write it off as Japan being Japan, but clearly this women is just trying to satisfy her lust for grandpas. Fucking awful. Nice going, Japan. You almost had something here. Way to fuck it up. We're no longer friends.
Five out of five. I watched it all in one day. |

I'm sorry, it's actually worse than what I described. They get married at the end.
I'm sticking to non-fiction from now on. Who wants to discuss the American Civil War? |

Upon further investigation it turns out his grandfather just adopted her and told everybody she was his daughter. Really, just ignore the fucking manga. Manga is garbage. We love animation! |

I guess if you come from a family with a long history of adoption/taking in abandoned children of other family members this tends to hit a little too close to home for you. Plus the protagonists ends up being manga Woody Allen! And everybody hates that guy. |
