This game is so awesome, but also amazingly buggy and crashes every fifteen minutes. Worth being knocked up into the air about a mile by a giant. Or easily murdering a dragon, then a moment later, get killed by a fucking bear.

I am holding off on getting this game. I enjoy dragons but I am only 10% through AC:Brotherhood then I have to play Revelations and go back to Arkham city then Dues Ex and Crysis 2

Man, the memory increase mod finally stabilized my game. Yay, no more crashing every 20 minutes. 90 hours put in, already. Fuck.

Is that where you change the executable so it can address more memory?

Another good thing to fix craches in games is to disable DEP for that executable.


Maybe games developers are worked ragged and paid shit because they're so bad at programming?

This reminded me of the old days, where it took much more skill to get games running.

There was a sense of accomplishment in merely getting a game to run.

Yes.

The problem is that the game was basically ported to the PC, instead of built for the PC. As a result, it will take them about two months or so of patches to get things up and running as well as they will get it before the mod community takes over and perfects it.

I'm sad that I have it for xbox and not PC, but I didn't feel like my laptop would be able to run it very well. Maybe I'm wrong, I dunno.

I kinda want to cave in and get a PC copy and see what happens. I'm interested in the mods. I'm having a good time just on the xbox, though. I haven't had any crashes or anything like that. Just the occasional weird glitch.

Yeah, I doubt it would run well on a laptop, unless you had an ultrabook (with i5 or i7 processor).

The only mods I use are to increase the graphics and performance taking advantage of my PC, but eventually, there will be all sorts of cool mods adding quests, abilities, etc. Hopefully someone will flesh out marriages (absolutely pointless at the moment), increase crafting options, and hopefully make dragons more powerful when you are at lower levels. Only Elder Dragons make trouble, and the game likes to toss 2 of them at me at a time now.

If you haven't discovered already, be sure to max out your smithing ability as soon as possible. You can do it by just crafting tons of daggers. I had max smithing at level 20. Currently, I am level 42 with about 1000 armor rating wearing dragon armor. I can craft a sword with base damage of 80 (and with my perks and buffs, my most powerful sword is 120 damage + shock and dragon smiting).
