How poor is your vision, Chris?

We were having a discussion in the chat, and I'm curious how great it is after your surgery and so on.

Well, my vision is bad enough to prevent me from passing the DMV vision test and being able to drive, but not bad enough for me to get guv'mint money.

It's hard for me to say how bad my vision is, compared to a normal person, because I've never had normal vision.

People tend to MISUNDERSTAND my vision. It's not that it's so terrible, it's just different. Acuity isn't so much the problem (it's not great, but the average old person probably sees worse than me) as is depth perception. My depth perception is bizarre shit.

If I'm ever pouring a liquid from one vessel to another, apparently it always looks like I'm going to spill it. I don't line things up right.

Even though I never actually got a driver's license, I HAVE driven before and basically learned to drive. However, I'd be constantly tailgating people and stopping at traffic lights so close to the car in front of me that you couldn't put a playing card between the front of our car and the bumper of theirs.

One time I did that and I was like "doot doo doo..." and I looked over at my mom and she was like *white knuckles* and I was like "what?" and that was the day I pretty much decided that it wasn't a good idea for me to drive, even if I COULD read the letters off of the vision test board.

And I have to wear reading glasses (as strong as possible!)

But overall, meh, if you weren't told that my vision is weak, you could go quite some time without knowing. It's not something that's casually apparent.

I'm not some retard or something!

I like how Chris completely avoided chat and posted on here. Actually, I like a lot more than that. Chris you're a pretty great person, not for being an Outlandish suck off, but for actually taking pride in poverty. It's kind of like the adage that the poor appreciate what they have much more than the rich.

I'm also proud to be poor. If it wasn't for rich people apparently doing every thing they could to make our lives harder, I'd be even more okay with it. But yeah, I don't really need a lot of material goods. Oh, also the fact that the less money you have means the less freedom you have is a problem. So I guess I'm saying that I would be completely fine being poor in a socialist country.

It's more complex than just income. A big paycheck is nice to brag about but means less if you're not saving toward explicit goals. Plus geographic differences (a buck buys more for Triple Life than it does for Vito). Also, a car costs a quadrillion dollars for Seru and Theldorrin.
