Grass is anti-technology and also has existential angst about the meaning of life.

I have a lot of things to say on this topic of depression but I seem to be coming late to the game. Coming to Africa has changed many things for me. Not the depression cycles themselves, but my perspective on how I should be living my life/where I should be going has changed, which plays a big part in what makes me feel down for extended periods of time.

As for girl situations... there's not much to do there. I agree with madali, guys are much more needy, maybe because we are forced to be "masculine" by social mores, such that our interactions with our friends become very surface level including telling stupid stories, complaining about politics, or talking about sports whereas girls are much more able to be emotional around their friends and family, fulfilling that need that men only seem to find with women. This would be even doubly true in countries where the male social role is extremely well defined. I dunno, just a hypothesis.

There are a lot of politics at the place I work. Most of the managers are really nice but ready to stab you in the back at a moment's notice. Also, one of the managers has repeatedly gotten passed up on promotions because of conspiring by other shitty managers.

Visted a psychiatrist today, because my depression plus inability to sleep is really fucking up my life again.

Anyway, she gave me these pills, anyone has any experience with them? Whenever you spend any time reading on anti-depression meds online, all reports seem to be either about destroying your libido or gaining lots of weight, and fucking up your life. But I figure, people generally report bad shit, not good stuff. So any of you have any experiences with these?

The two side effects that freak me out the most are hair loss and weight gains, I hate to be fat and bald. My body is beautiful and my hair is gorgeous.

As for my sex drive, I dont mind losing it as long as is it is temporary. If anything, I actually would LIKE to lose my sex drive if its temporary. I dont care about being horny now, but it would sex not to have an erection in the future and not be able to please my wife or daughter.
