The joke is that you saying its okay if its self-aware is a lame excuse people do, which means that comment itself was also self-aware, meaning your excuse about the self-aware joke was also self-aware.

He called me and threatened to kill himself when he found out that Brian and I were fucking. He threw himself into traffic, and his brother told me about it via facebook. His brother recently sent me a message saying that Patrick has nerve damage in his legs and will never be capable of walking again. He was asking me to send him a birthday card and I never responded. Patrick called not that long after his brother told me about it. I let Brian answer the phone and didn't speak to him.

I suppose that's why he's going to come destroy us now. At least our apartment is wheelchair accessible.

I think it just now hit me that some shit that transpired at a DBZ message board caused some guy to throw himself in traffic and never be able to walk again.

This is obviously spiraling towards his eventual death or a life sentence, I just hope the end isn't anticlimactic
