Yeah, I haven't seen the ORIGINAL so I was kinda like, "Uh who are these people and what is going on and why is that guy blowing everything up"

But I had a good enough time of it, I suppose.

I historically don't like mecha anime, so even though I wanted to watch the original, now I'm not so sure!

My initiation is identical to Morgan's: first SM, then DBZ. And for pretty much the same reason.

Also, the "most susceptible to honing in on something and becoming a completely obsessed/fanatical faggot about it" is interesting (and also applies to me), since if the DBZ wave had happened now rather than 12 years ago, I probably wouldn't care now.

There's just something about that high school mentality! Probably the same reason why teenagers get so obsessed over bands, celebrities, and such.
