So, I don't make a habit of following movie box offices like some kind of bitch ass fetishist who worships pop culture while playing the part of a countercultural crusader, but I was looking at movie times and there was a list that said that Twilight is making more than the rest of the top 10 movies combined, which probably indicates it's making more than the rest of all movies in the country.

Yes, Twilight has made an amount of money that offers yet another proof that I am right about the hopeless blackness of human existence.

In 9 days it has already made more than the original Twilight, and to put the opening weekend into into perspective, Harry Potter 4 made $102 million, and this (shit) made $142 million. So in other words, it's playing bigger than Harry Potter (SO FAR). In fact, it's the third biggest opening weekend ever.

This weekend, however, saw a drop of OVER SEVENTY PERCENT, which is almost undeardof-ly high (generally you get between -40 to -60% for the second weekend).

This movie won't hold on for long, unless teenage girl effect kicks in. They're going to need a TROOP SURGE if they want to knock this garbage over 350 million, but it aint going over 400.

It's probably the same sort of drop off you get whenever you have a film that appeals to a very rabid fanbase and no one else. Like a Star Trek movie (but not that recent one, because it's an abomination).
