Anyways, I saw this movie last night and I got a lot of bad looks because I was drinking Colt 45 in the front row.

The movie wasn't bad. It's cool that it took them 6 movies to actually learn how to pace the movie by not trying to stuff all sorts of fucking shit into it. The acting was pretty terrible at times and Ron's love interest was played by a non-actor. It's also so awesome how Hogwartz as a building is non-canon in every movie and there were no ghosts, no portraits, all of the hallways are boring grey rock, and there are no moving staircases.

I'm kind of amazed that Harry Potter as a book series exists, especially in the breadth and scope of what it's accomplished as a children's series, but also that JK Rowling has created a pretty entertaining world. That being said, the last few books, and the movies made of them, have just been completely worthless cash-ins. JK Rowling basically should have made the end of the Half-Blood Prince happen in Order of the Phoenix, and then made the Horcrux hunt the focus of the last book. Remembering how boring parts of book 6 and 7 were makes it absolutely ludicrous that they're splitting the last book into two movies.

Eskimo is a racial slur. Does faggot have some specific meaning that makes it a pejorative for gay people? Incidentally, Aleuts aren't even Eskimos, so that word is useless in referring to them.

I usually hear Asian used to refer to brown people. Slants are usually referred to by their country of origin.

Native is a stupid word, because I'm a native. The proper Canadian term is First Nations.

Also, the Chamber of Secrets was bad as a movie and book mostly because it was mostly a side story. Until the Horcruxes were established it was pretty much irrelevant in terms of the villains.

Prisoner of Azkaban is garbage, Derek. I don't really like Alfonso Cuaron movies in the first place, but the pacing and the stylistic flourishes he made with the movie are just hilariously masturbatory, and the dialogue is so stiff and preachy it's unbelievable *Remus tells Harry the meaning of manliness and justice and Matthew Outland jerks off*

I liked it because I felt it had the best flow of the movies, and it felt like it was the least tied down by the source material. The first and second movies were such utter garbage though that perhaps it inflates my opinion of the third. Goblet of Fire and Order of the Pheonix were both decent though.

The first movie was the best. It was the truest to the books, and actually accomplished almost everything that needed to be in the story.

The other movies left out a lot of important stuff.

Didn't Prisoner of Azkaban leave out a huge plot point? I remember leaving and being in awe of something that was missing from it.
