Also, if you have a liberal arts degree, and a coffee shop is hiring, you should automatically get the job. They should be required by law to hire you if you fill out an application, and series of online surveys, submit to a background check, and go to an interview, and you've graduated college.

This was the biggest "Why did I bother going to college?" moment of my life.


So now I'm HOPEFULLY getting hired full time as a dishwasher at some other place.

I took eight hours of chemistry, three hours of biology, and thee hours of physics.

I also took five hours of calculus and received an A.

It's entirely possible to be prone to violent outbursts and still be able to perform basic applied math.

I don't think I'll ever understand American fascination with credit hours and GPAs.

So is that two classes of chemistry, both with a lab, one class of biology, and one class of physics?

How does it work out with calculus? A longer lab? Or maybe only one of the chemistry classes had a lab, and they're normally two hours a week?

Well, you could either take three three-hour calculus classes or two five-hour ones.

You end up with one extra hour with the two five-hour ones, but you get to finish your chemistry requirement in two semesters.

I took the first five hour class, got an A, and then switched to English after I met a computer programmer working the graveyard shift at a gas station for extra money.

With regard to the sciences, you are right. I had to take a science "string" and I chose chemistry, but then it turned out you had to take at least one biology to graduate, so I took one, and I just took the physics for the hell of it.

The graduate director at UNO was impressed when she was compiling my hours. She wasn't used to English majors having chemistry and physics classes.

My basic understanding of math and science apparently did not inform my writing in any beneficial way. I still lost a poetry contest to a blond haired, blue-eyed German American who enjoyed writing about how much he liked to drink German beer and how he was simultaneously repulsed and intrigued by human vaginas.

None of the poetry proffessors thought his fascination with beer or his attempts at sexually disturbing themes were stereotypically German, but they at least had the good sense to warn this one black guy against writing in a black dialect.

I am glad Sadye reviews all my papers before I submit them. My problem with writing is that I expect people to be on my level of knowledge of the subject I am writing about so I dont explain things here and there. Also my train of thought jumps a lot

Yeah getting a letter back is better than not knowing and I imagine they didnt mean harm by it but still that is how this letter has came to seem very mean.

I did one of those surveys applying for best buy and not lying fucked me over because there is to many "what if" situations that cant be graded on a 1-5 scale.
