When, visiting my sister and her boyfriend,

I crashed at my friend's house last night and didn't bring a tooth brush. I had a dream that I woke up and wanted so much to clean my teeth that I tried to scrape off the dirt with a stake knife. The steak knife cut into my teeth, leaving dents and ridges until finally my teeth started falling out. First I pulled a molar out. Then my top front teeth started falling out.

I looked up interpretations of dreams where one's teeth fall out, and there are a bunch of them. One web site said that in Greek ,dreams involving loss of teeth indicate that a family member is sick or dying.

It was weird because earlier that day I went to visit my grandmother who is on her death bed (also known as my uncle's sofa). Her eyes barely open and the skin hangs off her arms. She lies barely breathing with a towel over her eyes and her hand on her mouth and nose, like she's smelling her hand, and that's how she knows she's still alive.

Guys, many or most of us will live to old age and our deaths will take forms common to elderly death. You will be afraid, wracked by pain, and above all tired, and at some moment there will be no one in the world to help you and you will be unable to draw air into your lungs no matter how much you want to. There is some number (a large one, with two or three commas, but a finite number nonetheless) of heartbeats remaining to you, and with every tick you paint yourself closer to the corner. This is the actual future of you, and the dumb life that you live which you're so impressed with is a stupid memory that an old person in the future can't even remember because life is a thing of which can be said without exaggeration to be a nightmare.

I was jogging yesterday and I saw an old woman walking at some small fraction of a mile per hour while moving no joint on her body through an arc of more than three degrees, and I was struck by how she probably had a good reason for deciding to walk that way and how existence must have felt to her nothing at all like being trapped in a burning car at the bottom of an outhouse cesspit.
