My sister's fiance is pretty involved in the music business (his band The Supaflys toured with LESS THAN JAKE!!!!!), and he said some band he knew got some major label deal, and the record company guy called him and was like, "I procured us a good review in Rolling Stone" or something.

You can't honestly believe shenanigans don't go on in entertainment.

But then again Peter Jones probably learned a lot about this sort of thing by sitting around in an upstate New York suburb and studying engineering.

I don't doubt for a second that Rolling Stone's record reviewers are paid off by the labels. They don't ever give anything less than three stars! They gave Make Believe by Weezer four stars, and that album is an unbelievable piece of shit.

I would seriously believed that the Coppolas bribed him on MArie Antoinette, except for the fact that users gave it decent ratings too

What I care about is that Roger Ebert is a loudspeaker for the financial concerns of the studios, chosen exclusively for his unusual eloquence and persuasiveness by the elite shadow meta-governors who design the movements of human society, and that this can be discovered by interpreting the secret messages he sends you while being interviewed by David Letterman.
