Jason, have you even read the parts of the book with Rorshach in them? He's a monster. He's not a hero. And he's certainly not an ARTIST. He cleaves a dog in the head with a butcher knife and tortures people for information. There's no beauty in his world, and I'm able to accept that the movie needs to portray that.

Others may disagree with me on this, but when I said that, I thought it was pretty clear I was being tongue-in-cheek.

You, on the other hand, are raging uncontrollably over a movie you haven't seen.

You never hear, "I want to be an uptight, unpleasable, brutish, ubermasculine art snob who gets off to my own self-perception of having high standards when I grow up."

Motivation doesn't excuse poor quality, no matter what. That is an ARTISTIC RULE.

Come on! To start, doesn't the phrase "artistic rule" strike you as mildly ironic?

Zack Snyder is incapable of creating visuals with any emotional depth at all and the movie will probably be a disaster, but I'm kind of looking forward to it anyway.

It's not really a superhero comic at all!

Anyway, the changed ending is the worst thing I've ever read because it makes no sense and greatly diminishes the intelligence of the villain. It's basically the best way to ruin the movie by changing the least amount of things. It'd seriously be better if they dressed up Rorschach in a tutu and had him prance around for thirty minutes.

Because there's a big difference between uniting a group of people against another group and uniting a group of people against an individual.

There's also the fact that they probably can't do anything against this particular foe, whereas they could against things made of meat.

There are numerous other flaws, too.

The changed ending sucks and the slow motion looks ridiculous. I'd feel pretty ashamed to go to see this movie with someone who hasn't read the graphic novel.

I watched a few minutes of the movie. Not all the scenes you've seen in the trailer are actually in slow motion.
