What features is everyone interested in for the new board? I thought it would be good to make a list of things that people see as being nice to have, or useful.

I'll keep an ongoing list right here (I'm not using the To Do List thread because it's too long).

- Different banner images based on forum, or random banner images (I'm not sure which is preferred) and an easy way for admins to change it. (mostly complete)
- Public polls (public from start, and public after poll closes)
- Attachments (phpbb3 feature)
- Custom BBCode to let us embed youtube videos and so on (phpbb3 feature)
- Better performance (phpbb3 has caching, so hopefully that's a start)
- Alternate themes or the capacity to make alternate themes (this feature actually exists already, but it's partly mangled because of the current FTU theme having some shit hardcoded in)
- Ability to change multiple CTs very quickly and easily
- Ignore List (phpbb3 feature)
- Static Post Counts
- Better titles (subject of thread for title, name of forum)

Stuff that we Already have that we have to remember to put back in:
- Static PPs

All of that is correct except for alternate themes.

If people want FTU in MIDNIGHT or AQUA, fuck them.

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of a theme for cellphones, and maybe one that's worksafe.

Comment ratings are a lame idea but the rest sounds good.

I set up the new board, so I will start working on stuff tonight. The default theme is omni-retarded so that will need to change first.

I was going to say something about the comments idea being ridiculous but then Theldorrin responded to it and I LOLed so I have to admit that I am feeling pretty humbled.

I'm not sure. There's a friends/foes list, but I'm not sure what those do. I'll add it to the list.

The ability to automatically log all the IRC chats.

Maybe host them on the server and put a link to them on the board?

Most web hosts discourage (or disallow) setting up your own IRC server.

But, we could probably build in a link to the existing one, I doubt that's an issue.
