FTU World RI: Mecha James K. Polk vs. Okonkwo |
|
|
1. MECHA JAMES K. POLK
Strengths: Is this from FTUW?
Weaknesses: Tell us about it, Vinny or whoever.
89. ROBOCOP
Strengths: He is a cop that is also a robot and is one of those things that all the other five year olds were really into and I wasn't.
Weaknesses: Fuck cops! Fuck laws!
311. GARY LARSON
Strengths: Creator of The Far Side.
Weaknesses: I prefer Close to Home.
205. VOID
Strengths: What is this guy, like a Mars Attacks martian?
Weaknesses: Those dudes were CRAZY.
188. OKONKWO
Strengths: He is a rash, strong warrior who acts upon impulse.
Weaknesses: Okonkwo consciously adopts opposite ideals and becomes productive, wealthy, thrifty, brave, violent, and adamantly opposed to music and anything else that he perceives to be “soft,” such as conversation and emotion. He is stoic to a fault. _________________ Last edited by God on Fri Apr 05, 33 4:00 am; edited 1 time in total |

That's dry humor, right? That you prefer Close To Home over The Far Side? |

Mecha James K. Polk was the main character in a series of awesome plays written by Space Ghost. He fought a variety of giant opponents, none of whom I can particularly remember because I saved the plays on my old computer. But rest assured they were worth saving! |

Close To Home is alright and I have a book of it, but, well, among other things it's quite a feat to have significantly worse artwork than The Far Side. |

I only remember reading one that was James K. Polk vs. Mecha James K. Polk. It was a hard fought battle which found James K. Polk as the victor delivering the classic line: "File him under G for garbage". mecha james K. Polk also had a Mexican mustache or wore Mexican hat (Sombrero?).
Robocop has an instant advantage over all of these selections because he's a robot. |

"What FTU likes" is not a uniform thing. While most of the core FTU members agree on many things, there is enough variety in likes and dislikes (even among the core posters) that makes this contest very interesting. Then throw in a Potatoes or Bitter Gigatron or Misfitman, and you get a nice mix.
That and the randomness of the competitors makes this a very good contest! |

If you think of it, this tournament can go on indefinitely.
I mean, not THIS tournament, but once this is over, just start the next one with however many hundred new nominees.
It's not like there's a shortage of actual and fictional people.
Maybe the next one should be object-based?
Maybe I'll DO the next one, and it will be objects. |

Then again, this is the kind of thing that's better done no more than once every couple months, and where fatigue will quickly set in if it's always happening. |

Uh, yeah, and after James K. Polk had defeated Mecha James K. Polk, the PAY ROY rebuilt the robot and they teamed up to fight two aliens in a tag team match on top of the White House. I was writing a third story, but I didn't finish it.
Oh, also Mecha James K. Polk ran on clock-work, or else you know, it wouldn't have made any sense. _________________ Said the Captain PUNisher. |
