I saw the trailer for this movie before Milk, and there was one part where the wrestler talks to this girl about being a roadie or something for Guns n Roses and he's like, "8 good years" (or something) "until Cobain ruined it."
And then they're both like, "And he sucked."
My question to Jason and anyone else who saw the movie is, is there a reoccuring theme of the wrestler hating Kurt Cobain because that would be cool if there was and it would also make it realistic because his age would make it to where he was getting old when Nirvana came out and would hate new popular music, and also redneck wrestler guys still like Guns and Roses a lot, but they don't like Nirvana.
Anyway, I'm just curious. |

| Yes, that is obviously an on-going subplot that comes to a head when Mickey Rourke takes on the ghost of Kurt Cobain in the ring. |

You're an asshole, Triple Life. I'm not asking if Nirvana is in the movie or anything. I just think that scene suggested that perhaps the main character talks about Nirvana more times than just that, since he and the girl were finishing eachother's sentences and stuff, and I was just curious.

There's a major scene in the third act where Randy is accosted by a fan in a Nirvana shirt and he (Randy) ends up murdering him (the fan). _________________ Last edited by God on Fri Apr 05, 33 4:00 am; edited 1 time in total |

| I'm sad that he pussed out and used Sweet Child O' Mine as his entrance theme in the big match. |

That sounds powerful, Jason.
Does he literally murder him, or does he just beat the shit out of him?
Or are you making this up?
I just can't tell with all these sophistocated suave sarcastic gentlemen around.
"As Randy and Cassidy note in the film, the 80s are over. In terms of music 'that pussy Cobain ruined everything' and posters of AC/DC are now superseded by posters of Vampire Weekend. "
/hahahahahahaha,Vampire Weekend
See, this is what I was getting at. Kurt Cobain symbolizes the emergence of indie rock over popular metal, which symbolizes the end of the era that made the main character a star. And VAMPIRE WEEKEND (the whitest band in the world) is involved.
This is what I asking about. Unfortunately, you are all retarded. |

| Until it eventually goes into the standard crappy indie rock 2 to 3 minute boring instrumental ending, every Vampire Weekend song is indestinguishable from The Police. |

| Grunge was the popular rock style after hair metal and the Guns N Roses fan directs his resentment at Kurt Cobain since he did a lot to popularize grunge. |

You're a great guy to have around AFTER a crisis!!!!
Apparently, this scene is making waves sort of, and I've found a lot of BLOGS with people talking about the Cobain line, and some people emphatically agree with it and nurture a naive idea that the film's creators agree with the statement and didn't simply use it as a way to develop the wrestler's character.
Either that, or they are just really proud to share an opinion with a director's imagined manifestation of washed up white trash. |

Except Jake's daughter's reactions we far more lukewarm.
"Uh, yeah my dad is an asshole but I guess we can kinda make up maybe."

I thought it was weird that Ram and that kid were even playing NES while discussing Call of Duty 4. Not to mention "playing" some sort of modded version of Pro Wrestling. That was quickly forgotten when Ram's daughter was introduced as a lesbian dating an ugly black chick.
The scene where Ram is fighting in the Hardcore match is basically the best scene ever and will stay with me for sometime. Not like the gay ending where the director want's me to decided if Ram fucking lived or not. |
