I'd just like to point out that when ReaLm said that Donald Trump mowed his lawn, that's from a Busta Rhymes album. (And I don't even tip him)

Also, from what I remember, most of Big Fagot's phrases on the car commercial were pretty standard at that point. "God is gay" "Sex = death = sex." I was pretty sure these were already bonafide catch phrases.

Regardless, it was a skit on the Busta Rhymes album with Gimme Some Mo and What's it Gonna Be with Janet Jackson. AFTER THE FACT, I found the album discarded on the side of the street in my neighborhood and listened to it.

I fucked up and thought it was "mows my lawn" because the SPEAKER lists all kinds of rich people and the services they provide him, and one of them is "Bill Gates mows my lawn" or something.

I could have sworn that "God is Gay" was a really old catch phrase, and I pointed out that it was from a Nirvana song, and then ALDP pointed out that some punk band from the eighties used it before Nirvana did.

I don't know. Maybe that's where it originated.

Jason, with the Busta Rhymes thing, I wasn't trying to correct you. I just thought it was interesting, not unlike the "God is Gay" thing, how jokes we consider "ours" aren't really ours.

With "God is Gay," I thought it was very telling that this group of people who champion their own sense of humor as so much better developed than that of traditional society accidentally adopted one of their best catchphrases from one of the most popular bands of their lifetimes.

Also, this is really gay, but I can't help but think of FTU as a punk band that doesn't make music. The self-referencing, the sardonic sense of humor, the artwork. The proud laziness and immersion in banal pop culture like DragonballZ and video games. It's like nobody realizes how much we fall into a slight alteration of an established cultural phenomenon.

In the anti-music-geek mentality that is so prevalent, nobody realizes that in pop music, the actual music is probably the least important thing, and the image, the artwork, and the attitude of the performer or performers is what really draws people. FTU has basically everything but the music, which is incedental anyway.

But then, this very fact makes the fervent anti-music-geek mentality sadly appropriate.

Still, including instruments, no matter how poorly they were played, while being a break in purity (and very gay to even suggest), would add sexually active females into the mix, which would be beneficial if for no other reason than the potential to humiliate them.

I mean, would it be universally regarded as stupid and self-congratulating if I wrote a song with lyrics like, "Your faggot fucking kids will fuck in your car" and "Imagine three dogs... fucking"? I mean, obviously it wouldn't really be funny anymore, taken out of the original context. And it might be indestinguishable from Anal Cunt.
