Customizable characters would be nice too as long as the weapons and corresponding styles were balanced.

Didn't they ruin subsequent Bushido Blade sequels by giving them life bars?

Because that's exactly the sort of thing that would ruin Bushido Blade.

I'll begrudgingly say that I'm starting to enjoy Virtua Fighter 5.

I generally gauge the quality of a fighting game by the amount of insane and or cocky assholes it has on the roster (Geese Howard, Bryan Fury, Cervantes, Vega, B.B. Hood).

And Virtua Fighter finally has a breakthrough character in Goh Hinogami.

Give the guy a pompodour and he's a Vinny Mac wet dream!

Plus the commentary feature is by far the worst addition I've ever seen in a modern video game and I can't get enough of it.

Imagine two of WCW's worst commentators trying to call a match in a fighting game and you've got a general idea of what to expect.

They only made two Bushido Blade games. The only problem I saw with the second game was that the atmosphere was ruined by terrible English voice actors instead of keeping the Japanese voice acting like the original.

They really could make an awesome Bushido Blade game now, but I doubt they ever will. I don't think it was very popular.

Looks like we'll be stuck with life bar based fighting games for the rest of time.

The second game was awesome due to the addition of double sword and quick draw sword styles. It really was an awesome sequel.

Square Enix will only publish a game if it stars Gackt and Ziggy Stardust.

Or has character designs by Akira Toriyama.

Also, zippers and belts.
