I was surprised a single southern (former confederate) state voted for Obama, and its not like Florida was a landslide. Again, this is the first time Florida voted Democrat in over 40 years.

As for rednecks, Florida is a minority majority state. So is Texas but *texas* is just going to be republican as a law of physics no matter who the voters are.
