God, I'm glad global warming is a myth, or this shit would be happening PRACTICALLY EVERY YEAR.

In all seriousness, though, Gustav was complete media hype. People at every level of government are still trying to save face for Katrina, so they took this harmless storm that wasn't more than a category two when it reached land and overhyped it and forced a mandatory evacuation, so they could propagate the myth that Katrina happened again, but this time there was a competant system in place, so everything turned out all right. It's no cooincidence that this... well, coincides with the presidential election.

So it's impossible for people in the Gulf Coast to trust their disaster alert system. We all lost a lot of money evacuating for no reason, and pretty soon another huge storm is going to fuck everything up again.

On the plus side, after a recent show that I played, a middle-aged gay doctor decided to start giving me money in attempt to coax me into bed with him. So even though I'm unemployed and my bank account is overdrawn, my stomache is full, and have a half tank of gas.
