Aden: If you need any help with the combat systems, just ask me. I know it pretty well at this point.
Dpayne: You roll a dice for each point of damage right?
Aden: Yeah, the attack should have some dice pool to it, like Strength+1 or something.
Aden: Then you roll that many dice, successes are points of damage.
Aden: Botches detract like usual.
Dpayne: Okay, and then roll soak which is difficulty 7.
Dpayne: Sorry been a while since I've actually run the combat.
Aden: Soak is six, by default.
Dpayne: Oh okay.
Aden: And yeah, he does it after.
Aden: And again, 1s detract.
Dpayne: Is it difficulty 7 to damage as default or 6?
Aden: Six.
Dpayne: Thanks
Aden: And neither damage or soak rolls can botch, only fail.
Aden: I have Fortitude, too.
Aden: One dot.
Aden: I figure that was probably my Stamina soak roll.
Aden: Immobilization: Add two dice to attack rolls made on an immobilized (i.e., held by someone or something) but still
Aden: struggling target.
Aden: That's for Vinny and me now.
Aden: By the way, do I get a willpower point, considering that's probably the first time Aden was even bitten by a she-beast?
Dpayne: Oh I thought your willpower was full, but sure.
Aden: Oh, yeah, I used one at the meeting.
Dpayne: That's right. ANyway yes you would for that.
Dpayne: You suddenly recall that Werewolves can tap into their RAGE and move at lightning speed.
Aden: 'Now THIS is exciting,' thinks Aden.
Aden: (difficulty 5 to soak, two health levels of aggravated damage/turn)
Aden: For easy reference
Aden: And, I don't know if this applies to werewolves, obviously, but it can only be soaked with Fortitude.
Dpayne: The fire caused 2 aggravated damage, I'm just not going to tell the levels to you.
Aden: Oh.
Dpayne: You guys only get to know the specific damage for yourself.
Dpayne: Fire is fucking aggravated to everything.
Aden: You said it was undeterred, so I figured it was IMMUNE.
Dpayne: No it's just fucking angry.
Dpayne: It's already on fire.
Dpayne: It's going to take the same damage either way.
Aden: I can't add more fire?
Aden: DOUBLE FIRE?
Aden: Haha, OK.
Dpayne: Oh well, you can but there's a risk.
Aden: What's the risk?
Dpayne: You need to roll at least 5 successes on the accuracy to avoid burning Barrett.
Dpayne: And it's difficulty 8.
Dpayne: It will also only add 1 level of aggravated damage onto the current rate.
Aden: Why eight?!
Dpayne: You're aiming at a much smaller area.
Dpayne: And Barrett is in the way.
Dpayne: The rest is already on fire.
Aden: Five dice!
Aden: Fortitude!
Dpayne: Fortitude is automatic.
Aden: Oh really?
Dpayne: It's only a roll with aggravated damage.
Dpayne: Although fuck I'll check.
Aden: That's not what the book says, but I won't argue.
Aden: No, no!
Aden: I like your way!
Dpayne: It makes more sense my way seeing as how potence is an auto success.
Dpayne: Or fortitude is the defense version of that.
Aden: OK, so at the end of this turn it will have taken five points of aggravated damage, right?
Aden: Two last turn, three this turn?
Dpayne: Yes.
Aden: Just wanted to make sure I understood.
Aden: Do I have a chance to drink from her?
Dpayne: No
Aden: All right, then I just runs my fingers along her burns.
Aden: Assuming they're still there.
Aden: run
Dpayne: Well you might, but it's important to keep in mind what you just fought, and that there are probably one or two others that aren't blind in here.
Aden: LET'S SEE.
Aden: I learned that Vasquez sent Carmella, whom I still cannot admit that I have genuine feelings for - I only know that I can't let her die, she's a good person, to spy on the Camarilla, which was the mission she mentioned at the Spot.
Aden: I know that I might have ruined my working relationship with Vasquez forever because I spoke out for her, but that's fine because I hated that hedonistic pervert.
Aden: I know that the horned man is still watching me, and I'm still craving clarification of his offer.
Aden: My party ... One is an Asian woman who serves someone called the Jade Dragon, who may not be real.
Aden: Another sat next to me during the hearing, a shallow, worthless pretty boy that probably keeps those knives around because he thinks they make him look cool, not for functionality.
Aden: Probably a Toreador.
Aden: And finally there's the Tzimisce kid, who Vasquez told me about. He belongs to the missing archbishop, and seems to actually have some skill. I still pity him for being embraced so young and think whoever sired him deserves to burn.
Aden: The werewolves must have something to do with the prince's murder, and even though I don't know how, it seems like getting to the bottom of that is the only way I can save Carmella. That's all I care about/
Aden: And I'm terrified that Ping is going to kill the blind girl the moment I loosen my grasp on her. I pity her, being burnt and half-blind myself.
Aden: Hmm.
Aden: I learned that everything fucking burns, be it werewolf or vampire.
Aden: Over.
Dpayne: Great, 2 for what you learned, 2 for heroism for holding back to protect your team mates, and 2 for roleplaying.
Dpayne: 10 total for the session.
Aden: Awesome.
Dpayne: great job It was a lot of fun once I started getting the hang of combat.
Aden: I love this story, dude.
Dpayne: Thanks I'm ejoying storytelling quite a bit.
Dpayne: Probably a better storyteller than a player.
Dpayne: I am.
Aden: I'll send you my sheets.
Dpayne: Great.
