Even in meatspace I'm very formal with people's names. I almost never say their nickname or a shortened version. And I also like to learn to pronounce correctly if it's foreign. Examples:
Big Fagot - Peter (Maybe sometime BF for short but almost always Peter)
Chris Psaros - Psaros (In fact, I never called you Chris. Except on the original board where I liked you and called you Crispy. GET IT? CHRIS P?)
Ace Kendo - Ace Kendo (No, not your first name, but I can't see calling you any other name. I still associate you, in my mind, with that bear icon you used to use.)
Yogurtman - Blanners (after I saw the timecard thing it stuck.)
Sporkism - Morgan (generally)
Theldorrin - Theldorrin (I write the whole thing out most of the time. EVEN THOUGH IT'S NOT YOUR REAL NAME.)
