I guess they thought that they could coast by creating a souped-up PS2.

Too bad it's even more difficult to program for than the PS2. And has a distinct lack of RAM for any sort of really high end game.

I guess they figured that the system didn't really matter that much, since they can always target the morons that buy the same sports game over and over again with a slightly modified roster.

Don't forget that it's in high definition! Of course, only a year ago the majority of televisions sold were not high definition.

So standard definition is the majority sold, as well as the vast majority of existing televisions.

Poor Nintendo.

The Gamecube was CLEARLY the superior of all the consoles, in games and the console itself. Powerful, easy and cheap to program for, all you need.

And the Wii is clearly something new and important and different.

but no, gotta go buy a shitty racing game and halo 3 on an upgraded xbox because all of my hip uber-cool friends that watch lost and high five over some nachos when someone leaves the island or something would look down on you
