I am extremely curious to see how other people typically use their days.

Right now I'm working on trying to make my TIME USE more effective and better, so I'd like to see how somebody else lives their life. Perhaps I can be INSPIRED by a tip.

I am brainstorming and I've found that I can break my days down into about 4 basic "types", with maybe a variation on each type (Type 1 day, type 2 day, type 2A day, type 3 day, etc.)

Just break it down however you feel comfortable.

"I get up and make breakfast, then I websurf for about 90 minutes, then I work on blah blah... etc. etc.... at around 7 pm, I watch so-and-so, then I have a snack, etc."

Like that!

I'll post mine later, when I get more written down.

I spend way too much time in front of the computer.

It's like, a sick amount of time. It may even approach Theldorrin levels hour-wise, since Theldorrin sleeps a lot (OR SO HE SAYS).

The problem is that for me the computer is where everything "productive" and/or creative is done, other than mandatory life bullshit like going to the grocery store and doing laundry and workin' out.

Not that I'm necessarily productive all the time when I'm in front of the computer (HOO BOY, THAT'S AN UNDERSTATEMENT), but it I AM going to be productive, this is where it will happen.

I need some more non-computer related activities that are productive to me in some ways.

But I can't imagine what that would be.

What do people who spend less than 9 hours a day in front of their computer do with all that time, other than useless shit like watching TV or playing video games?

I don't get it!

I guess I also have to keep in mind that 90% of people are way more social than I am, so they probably devote many hours, maybe even a couple every day to, like, conversation or fucking or something.

I think that's probably the hugest timesink for most people, is attending to their social needs. That and kids.

Man, I'm really starting to think that there are mostly two types of people in the world. The 10-11pm bedtime people, and the 2:30am bedtime people. And the early-bed assholes have everybody else caught up in their little bullshit system. They've won!

Because 2:30 is really my natural bedtime too. I'm more of an 11:30 wake up person, but that's because 8 hours of sleep isn't enough for me. But yeah, it's interesting. She talks about "if left to her own devices."

Almost everyone I know is like that.

1-2pm - woke up, showered, called dad, checked weather and email online,

2-3pm - saw my girl, got lunch and got ready for work

3:15 - left for work

3:50 - PUNCH THE CLOCK

2am - get home from work, get naked, shit, make food, shower, then internet til 6 or 7am!

No matter how sleep deprived I am during the week, I still go to bed around the 11pm-12:30am range.

I have to get up at 6am during the week, so yeah, gay. 6 hours of sleep is definitely not enough. I need at least 8 to feel normal and refreshed.

Usually by Friday though I'm so tired that I either go to sleep really early or have to take some kind of a nap.

I think I like this thread. You say typical day so I won't describe my weekends.

530am-600am: I wake up

600am-630am: Take a shower, eat breakfast, switch between watching Robin & Company and VH1

645am: Leave for work!

700am: I clock in!

700am-4pm: Work. Since I work in a computer lab I spend almost all of that time on the internet. When I'm not, I'm helping students with the most basic computer issues one can have. Sometimes I may even flirt with a girl I guess, but I don't go out of my way to do so because I'm not a douchebag.

400pm: I call/text my usual group of friends to see if any of them want to hangout, if they do, we hang out. If not, I go home.

500pm-600pm: I go to the gym.

600pm-900pm: This is my chill time. I eat dinner, surf the net, read a book, maybe go out on the patio and have a beer and a smoke. It really depends on my mood.

900pm-2am: I am on the internet.

2am-530am: Sleep time.

9:00 PM to 10:00 PM: Eat and get ready for work, try to read some things on the Internet as fast as I can before I have to depart for work

10:00 PM to 6:30 AM: Work

6:30 AM to 8:00 AM: Liftin' waytes

8:00 AM to 9:00 AM: Come home and eat "supper" while sitting on the computer (yes it really does take me an hour or more to eat supper)

9:00 AM to 2:30 PM: In this period of time I will be doing anything from sitting on the Internet (most likely) to playing video games or jerking off. I also try to eat one more small meal somewhere here.

2:30 PM: Zzzzzz

Total time spent on a computer, counting work: About 12 hours a day.
