Let's say you install a program that gives you a 30-day trial, and is basically fully functional.

But then your 30 DAYS runs out. So you uninstall the program and remove all folders and references to it and such, then reinstall it.

You open it again and the fucker still tells you that your 30 days are up. IT KNOWS!

I guess this will probably be different for each program, but luckily this is a very simple piece of software.

What is your advice for FINDING WHATEVER IT IS THAT'S STORING THE INFORMATION about my 30 days, and obliterating the reference.

Is it necessarily going to be in the registry, or could it be elsewhere?

it could be anywhere. When installing a program the user generally runs as admin, so they can put that info basically anywhere. And anti-copyright infringement stuff is notoriously vile with respect to respecting a person's computer.

It's probably in the registry, even still.

Anyway, the best way to deal with this sort of thing is to use one of those fancy installer programs that removes everything after you uninstall a program.
