Ray Manzarek is dead |

I don't understand how anybody can like The Doors. I hope Robby Krieger and the rest of the band feels comfortable moving away from Ray Manzarek's whole sound on their future albums and tours. |

Did anybody ever like the way Ray Manzarek played organ? Why didn't he play piano or something? He should have done anything but play the organ.
I'm looking at a list of The Doors albums and I'm pretty sure Morrison Hotel is the only remotely listenable album they released. I think maybe I would like The Doors more if I had listened to Morrison Hotel first and listened to it a lot before listening to any of their other albums. |

I might've liked jethro Tull more if they weren't terrible. Concurrence about the Doors, I think most music should be burned except for jethro Tull, and that will be the only bad music, so we will have music that is shitty, like Mars voltage, white stripes, jethro Tull, and Jamaican reefer bongo and xylophone ambient sounds
Good music like Bloodlines from Dracula X and the boss music from soul hackers is what the world would have on their iPod |

I have enjoyed the Doors since my youth and still do. The first 2 CD's I heard were the Best of.
It is good though for you to let all of your hate out though I commend you. |

The Doors is my favorite band. Nowadays, when I listen to them, I enjoy their LA Woman album the best. |

Oh wow I don't think I've ever listened to Waiting for the Sun.
Maybe this is why I hate Doors?? |

I'm listening to Strange Days right now while I smoke some pot. I really can't imagine either Jim Morrison or Tupac just up and disappearing to go live in Africa. It's so much easier to believe they're dead. |

I haven't researched either of their respective "Secretly alive and in Africa" legends, but what would they even do there? Did either of them have any skills that weren't related to getting high or singing? |

I'm up to Unhappy Girl. My favorite thing on the album so far is the stupid BWEEEEOOOOOOOO guitar part in this song. |

I like The Soft Parade a lot. I think
Tell All the People
Touch Me
Shaman's Blues
is probably the strongest opening of the five albums I have
I think this might be their best album ever. |

Strange Days has a great album cover with lots of circus shit on it but when I think about why I hate the music on the album it mostly comes down to "all the circus shit in it." Ray Manzarek was the WORST Door. |

I spent years trying to understand why Strange Days was the best Doors album, never even listening to The Soft Parade (the "worst" Doors album, quote unquote)
"YOU CANNOT PETITION THE LORD WITH PRAYER!!!" Hahaha, it's like a Meat Loaf skit without any jokes! The Soft Parade is seriously the best Doors album, there's no WAY Waiting for the Sun could be better than this.... RIGHT??? |

Out of the "long song at the end of the album" songs, I always considered The Soft Parade the odd one out, considering how much I loved The End, When the Music is Over, and Riders on the Storm, but after I while, I started to really enjoy the Soft Parade.
On an unrelated note, but related to music, a month back I was listening to some of my old albums, and I relistened to The Alan Parsons Project's Eve album, and it was really good! I don't know if the riffs on women in that album are satire, but I take it completely literally and I enjoy it that way more. My favorite song out of that album is probably, "I'd Rather Be a Man" because its so true. "I'd rather be a man cause a man don't crawl like you do" so true |

It's like a meatloaf skit without any jokes
I'm going to steal that next time I describe anything to anybody.
"If you had a bowel movement today how would you describe it?"
"It's like a meatloaf skit without any jokes"
Anyway, in Drama class in the 8th grade a girl went up and her thingy was on "Tupac is not dead as he [bunch of arbitrary allusions to why the number 7 that had some part even in the most simple shit is why he's alive]"
I did mine on a 7''7 mumbling slav. |

I'm pretty sure Eve is not satirical.
Everything on The Soft Parade is different from the other Doors albums I have. There aren't any stupid poems until the end! Ray Manzarek is barely present! I guess people hate the horns and strings or something. Fucking idiots!!! |

For the first time, the songs were credited to individual members (only Morrison and Krieger are actually listed on the album's sleeve) as Morrison was unhappy with the lyric "get your guns" on the album's first track. He was uncomfortable with the possible perception by some that that was in fact what he wanted listeners to do. Although, on later albums the writing credit would return to the earlier format and regardless of whose lyrics were being used, the entire band was credited.
Weird that he had no such misgivings about his simple, ingenuous listeners when they tried to run, tried to hide, and broke on through to the other side. |
