A long time ago I had this idea for a website. Inspired by vgmusic.com, and how they didn't have the issue of needing massive file space, since the songs were all in .mid format, I figured: why not strip it down even further, and make them .txt files?

It would be a comprehensive resource for all your favourite video game tracks, carefully transcribed into "Doo doo doo doo doo DOO, doo, doo doo doo doo doo doo doo DOO DOO DOO DEE DOO DEE DOO DOO DEE DOO" format. And that would be it. That would be the whole joke. People would click through the website and be like, "What the hell is wrong with this guy? What about the big medley at the end of Final Fantasy 6? There's no way he typed out the whole thing, that shit lasts like 20 minutes!"

Anyway, I never ended up making the website, because it sounded like too much effort for the sake of giving people a cheap laugh.

irlachievements.com, where people go outside, take pictures of themselves doing stuff, for prizes and fame, and a power level ala Achievement Trophy score or whatever.

I'm sure that a programmer could create something that automates transcriptions like those. Once you have that, it'd be worth getting to the front page of Reddit for a day.

I thought a social networking site that tabulates all local touring events, like concerts and stand-ups and stuff, could be a hit. You know, you make a profile, choose the sort of things you're interested in and get alerted when things you like or may like are nearby.
