After THREE MILLENIA, I have found the only alcohol drink worth mixing.

Lime Ricky with Vodka and cherry.

2 parts vodka (midshelf)
2 parts club soda
1 part sweet lime juice
add 1 maraschino cherry
dash cherry juice (from cherry jar)
3 drops angostura bitters

Top this. No cheating. You must try the old drink VERBATIM.

Everything listed above are basic bartending ingredients. You can probably buy all of the above for under $20 in Walmart minus the Vodka.

I just tried the Lime Ricky with Vodka and Cherry and it tasted so bad I had to throw up. I don't know if I've ever tasted a mixed drink this bad before.

I'm discovering the old school drinks. They were much simpler tasting and much easier to drink consistently. I mean, the THOUGHT of making a shot or some stupid frat party concoction is offensive!

If you don't find my Lime Ricky sweet enough, add a syrup like honey, agave syrup, maple syrup, etc.

Using a liquor to change the flavor of another liquor is USUALLY terrible. If you want to change the flavor of a liquor, change it with something without alcohol. The exception are the real syrupy liquors like blue curacao or (god forbid) Goldschlager.
