It's that time o! No one came again ;_;, but I shall forgive. My movie viewing will be limited by working and the fact I'm in the process of moving, but I shall persevere!

A documentary about a former alcoholic named Mark who was brutally attacked outside a bar and lost all of his memories as a result. To cope with physical rehabilitation, loss of identity and the mental trauma, he creates his own world using soldier dolls and Barbies. His photographs of the stories he creates with these characters catch the attention of an editor of an art magazine and he is given a show to display his work.
The intricate dioramas Mark creates alone are worth watching for. But the way that he creates his art and uses it foremost as therapy for his situation, gives the whole movie a story that is captivating until the end. Particularly, the way he copes with his awkwardness around women is touching, if a tad weird. Highly recommended. _________________

You're going to have to give us a heads up, man. I always forget this shit even exists immediately after you stop talking about it. |

I was thinking about it the other day! But I didn't know it was happening already.
I was actually thinking of trying to make a trip sometime in the fall. But I guess that's the International Film Festival in Vancouver, not this.
Oh well! _________________

Spamdini, I will almost definitely be at Fantasia this year. My girlfriend goes to Concordia so unless we break up or she sublets and goes back to Toronto for the summer, I will want to be all up in Montreal for this!
Also, it's not the girlfriend you met 4 years ago, she and I actually broke up at the bus station as soon as we got back to Guelph. |
