So apparently punkasss has been banned and it just got me wondering what everybody thought about banning in general. Personally I'm against banning anybody but spam bots but I really don't mind enough to protest over it.

I'm not sure how to vote. I do feel that sometimes it's necessary, but being annoying IS a perfectly good reason.

I have no problem with temp bans. I don't think there's been a case where someone was banned from both the board and the chat.

There are really only 4 or so people that I think would even be banned at any degree of regularity.

Also, permanent bans for insane people like Utils.

Banning is almost never correct except in cases of destructiveness/outright spamming.

Most of the time if you have the urge to ban someone it probably means they're doing something right (at least in terms of what *I* think makes for a good board, but which nobody agrees with, so whatever).

It's especially retarded/egregious when somebody gets banned merely for discussing in an unfavorable manner some pet interest that one of the PIGGYS happens to have.

Yeah, I pretty much don't think anyone should be banned unless they try to destroy the board or something, which at this point I don't think anyone would.
