It's obnoxious when people act as if their individual vote actually matters, especially their presidential vote. (Well, by extension, when people act as if they themselves individually matter, but that's a broader issue.)

I mean, grow up.

I'm going to go vote, but I'm doing it for ritual. Like dressing up for Halloween.

God, Oprah, fucking flipping out and hyperventilating because the machine didn't register her vote for president. Give me a break.

What I mean is, if the guy at the polling place takes my ballot and throws it directly into the trash, I'll be like "that's weird. Whatever, give me my sticker. YAAAAAA, I VOTED!!!!!!!!"

There are a lot of horrible attitudes and behaviors that develop around voting.

- The placement of undue importance on one's own ballot.
- (THE WORST) Condescending self-righteousness about having voted, and directed toward those who did NOT vote.
- That attitude people take that "you can't complain about things if you didn't vote." Yeah fuckass, like me having voted would have CHANGED EVERYTHING, and converted the 99% of the population that are morons to non-morons.
- Gay haughtiness about merely having voted.
