Ok, Ghostland Observatory, whatever. Fucking Denton did better than that (Norah Jones), FUCKING LUBBOCK DID BETTER THAN THIS (Buddy Holly)
as has just about every major city in the south.


Name one famous Opera house. Not important? Fine, but just about every music capital from Trendy Seattle to gothic Buddhapest has one.


6th street is a piece of shit; I've been there you havent. It is a piss poor imitation of bourbon street, but I guess only I have been there.

This alone should be enough to tell you that the Austin scene is second rate at best. Morgan is a cheesy woman


Like I said, one COULD make a list of overrated cities, but they would all be in Texas or Florida

LA discontents, of which there are plenty (LA is far more culturally influential and cosmopolitan than Austin) must hate all of humanity

So no, Kriss Kross is not from Austin their from Seattle

Angela Jolie is not from Austin either, Ace. She does own a house by the lake though

However, *Fucking Conecticut* at least has Michael Bolton, Paul Simon, 50 Cent.

Not to mention fine opera houses and one of the oldest orchestras, neither of which Austin can lay claim to.

Hell, Austin hasn't produced a single notable musician (fuck the observatory) on par with Buddy Holly and Norah Jones, who come from *fucking Lubbock* and *fucking Denton*

Eric Johson and Ghostland Observatory are the only REMOTELY NOTABLE musicians from Austin. In other words, Austin only outperforms cities smaller than itself, but of course some small towns have outperformed Austin.

1. KC and the Sunshine Band ( "That's the Way (I Like It)", "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty", "I'm Your Boogie Man", "Keep It Comin' Love", "Get Down Tonight", "Give It Up" "Please Don't Go".)

They (among others) are from Miami, which is smaller than Austin


A REAL FUCKING BAND WITH A REAL FUCKING SONGS THAT EVERY MAJOR CITY BUT AUSTIN HAS)



2. Marilyn MAnson is from Fort Lauderdale. Yup, some shithole town in Florida has produced one more truly noteable musician than Austin has.
