In the film's script the word "gigawatt" is spelled and pronounced "jiggawatt" (/dʒɪgæwɑt/). Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis had been to a science seminar and the speaker had pronounced it in such a way. This is an uncommon although accepted pronunciation of the word "gigawatt," which is usually pronounced with a hard g, and not an error.
